About Europa League matchday 2
The UEFA Europa League is the second of UEFA's three club competitions, and since 2024/25 it has used the same league-phase format as the Champions League: 36 clubs, eight games each against eight different opponents, and one shared table. The top eight go straight into the round of 16, the clubs from 9th to 24th meet in a two-legged knockout play-off, and the bottom twelve are out. The winner of the final earns a place in the following season's Champions League. Its rounds are normally played on Thursday nights.
Matchday 2 is Thursday 15 October, with all 18 fixtures on one night. Beşiktaş, who opened their campaign by beating Marseille 4–1 in Istanbul, visit Hoffenheim in the late slot. The same evening brings Celta Vigo against Juventus, Benfica against Celtic and Marseille against Olympiacos, while the early games include Salzburg against Milan, Lyon against Crystal Palace and Lech Poznań against Bayer Leverkusen.
Kick-offs are at 18:45 and 21:00 Central European Time, which is 19:45 and 22:00 in Türkiye, 17:45 and 20:00 in the UK, and 12:45 and 15:00 on the US East Coast. Every fixture on this page is shown in your own time zone, alongside the live league table.
