1. Who we are

NextMatch (matchcountdown.com) is a sports event countdown service. We show you when your next match starts in your local timezone. If you have any questions about this policy, contact us at privacy@matchcountdown.com.

2. Data we collect

We collect minimal data needed to operate the service:

• Usage analytics — pages visited, search queries, and general interaction patterns. Collected via PostHog with IP anonymisation enabled. No personal profiles are created for anonymous visitors.
• Browser preferences — your cookie consent choice and any reminders you set are stored locally in your browser (localStorage) and never sent to our servers.
• Log data — our hosting provider (DigitalOcean) records standard server access logs (IP address, request path, timestamp). These are retained for up to 30 days for security and debugging.

We do not collect names, email addresses, or payment information from visitors.

We use cookies and similar local storage technologies for the following purposes:

6. Data retention

Analytics data is retained for 12 months. Server access logs are deleted after 30 days. Browser-stored preferences persist until you clear your browser data or change them via the cookie banner.

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top will always reflect the most recent version. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
