The short answer

The 2026 WTA Finals are played from Sunday 8 to Sunday 15 November at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden in California, on a hard court. The season-ending event was due in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and was moved to the United States after the Saudi hosting contract ended early.

Eight singles players and eight doubles teams take part, and the prize money is $15.5 million. It is the 55th edition of the singles event and the 50th of the doubles. Elena Rybakina won the 2025 singles title; Veronika Kudermetova and Elise Mertens won the doubles.

How the format works

The eight players are split into two groups of four and each plays the other three in her group over six days. The top two of each group reach the semi-finals, and the semi-final winners meet in the final.

Who has qualified

Places go to the top of the season's race leaderboard. By 19 October seven of the eight singles places had been filled, among them Aryna Sabalenka, Elena Rybakina, Coco Gauff and Jessica Pegula; one place was still open.

The men's ATP Finals in Turin start on the final day, 15 November, so the two season finales overlap by one day.

The time difference

Indian Wells is on US Pacific time, UTC−8 in November: three hours behind the US East Coast, eight behind the UK, nine behind Central Europe and eleven behind Türkiye. An evening match at 19:00 in California is 03:00 in London, 04:00 in Paris and 06:00 in Istanbul the next morning. Each match on MatchCountdown shows its start in your own time zone once the order of play is published.
