WTA Tour

The WTA Tour is the main professional circuit for women's tennis. Like the men's tour, it runs from the Australian summer in January to the autumn, and its events are graded by the ranking points they award: the four Grand Slams at the top, then the WTA 1000 tournaments, followed by WTA 500 and WTA 250 events. The year closes with the WTA Finals, contested by the eight best singles players and doubles teams of the season. Women's matches are best of three sets at every level, including the Grand Slams.

Order of play in tennis gives a start time only for the first match on each court; later matches begin whenever the one before finishes. With the tour moving between Australia, the Middle East, Europe, North America and Asia, start times shift dramatically from week to week. The countdowns on this page show every scheduled match in your own time zone, so you can see when play begins wherever the tour happens to be.
